  5. Ponder and consider Proverbs 4:23. How can 4:24-27 help us be successful in keeping our heart with all vigilance?

  1. What is the result when we “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” and “Acknowledge him in all our ways” what lean not on your own understanding.”?
  2. In light of the answer to question 1, how does it help us understand 3:11-12?
  3. Read Hebrews 12:3-11. In what ways does this passage and Proverbs 3:11-12 provide peace to the Christian?
  4. Reread 3:13-20. Note 3:18 “tree of life.” PONDER & CONSIDER the following and write your thoughts. Tree of life appears in Genesis, Revelation and Proverbs. In the context of Proverbs is creation, commands, knowledge and wisdom. What temptation did the enemy use to finally get Adam and Eve to eat of the Tree of Knowledge? How does this relate to Proverbs? How does it relate to true wisdom?

Day 2: 31 Days in Proverbs

  1. Proverbs 2 is one long conditional sentence: “If . . . , then . . .” If you seek out to find wisdom (verse 1-4). The “then” (verse 9-22) show what is discovered if you seek wisdom. Describe the benefits of wisdom.
  2. How did Samson give away his strength?
  3. How could Samson have avoided giving away his strength?
  4. What are some areas in your life that you must wisely keep a very close watch so you do not fail and give away your strength? (NOTE: For clarity, it is true as Christ followers we are to be vigilant and guard ourselves against all sin. Most people are less likely to fall in one area, and more likely to fall in another. The question points to this.)
  5. As you read Proverbs 2, what verse(s) or thought(s) stuck out? Explain why?
